Raw Silk Underpetticoat

Under petticoats were worn over stays and other underpinnings or skirt supports to help smooth the overall silhouette. As an intermediate layer, they provided a clean foundation for the petticoats and gowns worn above.

Made from durable, color-neutral raw silk, this example offers a serviceable and comfortable option for regular wear. The silk provides a substantial layer without excess bulk, making it well-suited for use beneath multiple garments.

At 30" in length, it is slightly shorter than standard outer petticoats, allowing it to remain discreet beneath the fashion layers while still contributing to the proper shape.
